Our third day in Madrid, we got off to a late start after sleeping in due to all the liquor the night before. We have brunch and then head out to Parque del Retiro, where we end up at an outdoor Sunday concert. There are thousands of people using plastic chairs under the shade of the trees.
Everyone is enjoying the cool weather as long as you get a spot under the trees. We did get chairs under the trees and sit to listen for 4-5 songs. Then decide to move on, from there we visit the Crystal Palace..... It was empty...There was not a display like when Gabby and I were here.
We moved on and head back to the hotel with plans of going to the bull fight at 7 pm for the final evening. After a brief rest at the hotel, we had salad and ice-cream that we got a convenience shop. We then head out to the metro station and Carmen tells me she is not well. She is sweaty and her stomach is bad, she feels it's from the salad, but it was bought from a good store.
We cancel the bull fight and head back to the hotel. Before we make it to the hotel we know we have to go buy our tickets to our next destination ---- Cuenca. We head to the Atocha but the wait of over an hour just to buy the tickets was not worth it. We head back to the hotel and Carmen is feeling better. I end up buying the tickets online. We rest for the night. We will leave in the morning for Cuenca.
