Abadin to Miraz

Stage 29 & 30

It was nice to wake up to good strong coffee at the modern albergue.  At about 9:00 am we finally headed out on the road, we left Abadin with a steady rain for about half of stage 29. At about eleven in the morning we stopped off for pastries in a Villalba, which was a midsize town. My goal was to pick up some more pain pills which I had been told about the night before, these pain pills are to take back home, as they would not be available in the U.S. I was told that Spain has some of the lowest prices in medication in the World.

Stopping of for a morning snack, Carmen did not sit with me at the pasteleria, she wanted to experience the bar stools at the shop, were I just wanted to sit back and relax and enjoy my multiple pastries.

At the end of stage 29 we stopped to get lunch, we ended up getting burgers and then went over to visit a Parador, which the staff allowed us to walk around to take some photos.

Reaching the point where we had to decide to go on to Miraz, which was another 10 kilometers further or a shortcut to Sobrado dos Monxes, which is to be the stage for the next day.

We decided to go the extra distance, because we had heard of the Albergue run by the confraternity of St. James from England in Miraz.  The ride was calm in the trails of the Camino.
After doing our daily laundry and setting it on the clothe line to dry we needed to get dinner. Out of food because we had not stopped to buy anything for dinner we ended up having pasta that the confraternity gave us for, afterwards we walked to the town bar/restaurant for beer and wine.  We then sat around and talked to the hosts that were from England and Ireland about past experiences on the Camino and of pilgrimages in Ireland.
