Uber to the Train,
then to SEA-TAC

We get up and head out to get some breakfast, our hosts family is out of town so we go out for breakfast at nearby Blackbird Bakery. A few more sweets with coffee.  Carmen buys extras to take the girls some pastries, we visit a book store and I buy a book, (part of my routine is to buy a book  where ever we go vacation to remind me of the vacation as I read it.)

While I love getting up in the morning to ride my bike and experience what the day will bring, today it felt even better knowing we would get a break from riding. I am ready to go back home and at the same time I want to continue riding, three weeks is just not enough. I think of longer rides I want to do, of spending the whole summer on the road.
What is next for us? Right now the talk is to go to Miami to see my Cuban relatives then ride the bikes down to Key West, just 90 miles from my childhood home. Maybe Cuba.... on another trip.

On this tour we met people who have given me inspiration to do more, I think of Pat and Don who are in their 80's and they are still enjoying the road. I am moved by  people like Graham who is zigzagging from Continent to Continent, What is it like, I think I want to do it too, but I have a commitment at home, which is what keeps me grounded.

I am impressed by the trust that every warmshower host has had in us, leaving us a key to their house, a combination code or just leaving the house and not coming back for hours or just simply asking us to lock up when we leave.
To all of the warmshower host we have had, I can tell you the experience Carmen and I had would not be the same without you.  Everyone of y'all treated us like a long time friend that you have ridden with many times.

To Stephen , Kristi, Drew , Becky, Don, Pat,Kelley, Joshua, Norman, Mary, Kristi, Kristin, Trenton, Rasham. Thank you again, Y'ALL know if ever your travels bring you to Houston Texas, we will be here with dinner, breakfast, some strong coffee and of course a warm shower.

Carmen -  I made it - 500 miles of riding my bike....I have done a tour!
I am fortunate to have accomplished almost all of what I set out to do -
My heart is healing.... I dreamed my mom.
My anxieties and worries are less - I crossed the LionsGate Bridge without throwing my bike down.
Pain is necessary to live...I rubbed ointment on my physical pains and kept going because the reward of seeing all sights going up the hill, and  feeling the wind on the way down the hills was always worth it!
My trust for others has been increased - there are good people out there that want to reach out and give a hand, tell a story and share their dreams with strangers.
We can't be strangers if we share dreams and stories with each other.
My husband is my friend and I trust him to lead until I am stronger and can lead him on a tour.

I am blessed, God is good and life is for living.
