The numbers above represent the days of the month
in June and July we were doing the Eurovelo 6
Picture
We crossed into Switzerland and were looking for breakfast, at the restaurant they had very little English and we of course did not have any German. We sat outside, it was very cool and it felt great to start a new day with such nice weather.

We asked for a menu but there were no pictures. I thought that if I clucked like a chicken and  made it looked like I was laying eggs, they would know that we wanted breakfast or at least eggs. They motioned like they understood with the thumbs up and we waited to see what surprise they would have for us.

Having our morning coffees when breakfast arrived we were happily surprised with eggs, potatoes, cheeses, toast , tomatoes. We were in a great mood and rode out ready to face Switzerland on full stomachs.

Now riding in Switzerland and just south of the Rhine River we stopped mid afternoon after lunch and cooled our bodies down on one of the streams that ran into the Rhine. The water was so cold - Carmen put her feet and sat on the big black rocks where the water was gurgling. As we were riding at times we saw groups of people picnicking along the river and at times just floating on the river. The romantic Rhine River from all the books Carmen has read, it was a great moment.

In late afternoon it was time to start looking for a place to camp out for the night, after we found one on the app which took us away from the river and not in the direction we needed to continue the following day , we first stopped of at a store and picked up some meats a few cheeses and breads to have our meal that night, we followed the directions on the app, it kept telling us that the campground was just to the left of us, but all we could see was the beginning of a mountain.

We passed the campsite and thought that maybe we just could not see it, but we followed the the winding road and after about another half mile up the road took us left and past a very small village and we started to climb. After half and hour of climbing and some walking our bikes the camp ground came into view. It was one of the best camp sites we have seen, a little more costly than the usual 8-10 euro per person, but was was high end. A clean specious, very safe place, we showered, made our meals, drank our badly picked wine and relaxed overlooking the valley below.  There were lights up on the hills of the homes.  It was a beautiful sight.
