The numbers above represent the days of the month
in June and July we were doing the Eurovelo 6
Picture

We had to ride our bikes through the city to get to another train station where we would head out to Besançon. On the train we had specific seating, some girls were on our seats, we asked them to move. We enjoyed the ride when it was time to get off we unloaded the bikes and our equipment from the bike holding area. Because we had to unload so quickly, before the train moved on, I ended up not getting Carmen's helmet. I can not recall seeing the helmet, so we felt the girls who we asked to move took it.

Carmen is now without a helmet, but eventually took mine and felt safer. We thought we would arrive in Besançon and find the Eurovelo 6 right away, but after arriving we found that we were about 12 Kilometers from the center of town. We were not prepared for this, we had minimal WiFi so the directions were not that clear, we rode towards Basel and hoped to find the EV6  or the river so our ride would not be so hilly moving in and out of every town or village. We did not find it. The weather was pleasant, temperatures in the 70's in the middle of the day, this day we rode lots. Already tired, we found a campsite outside a village next to a river, we got there late and no one was there to take the camping fee.

We rode into the area and saw some guys already camped out, their tents were up and they had Kayaks with them. We found later that they were also on their own trip, they were going down the river. We got our shower and had a little food from the day to have for our dinner, That night across from the river there was some sort of youth rally with loud music all night long, but as tired as we were we eventually fell asleep.

A tough first day of riding, but overall lots of happiness, we were on our bikes finally and riding from village to village in France.
