Boston - Thanksgiving Week 2017
Nov 24th - We drove back into Boston and returned the car, took the shuttle to our last Marriott, checked in and within 30 minutes went back out with the shuttle which took us to the the Red Line and on to Boston Common, we walked the town, we intended to go to China Town but there were very few tourist on the walk and lots more homeless so cautiously we went back to the Common and got dinner at what seemed Moroccan or Algerian Food right across from the subway line, always watching the homeless as they walk around and fend for each other.
In fact one of the homeless couples stole the food from the counter that belonged to a lady, but the manager went over and took back the untouched food, the homeless were very smart not to eat the food until they felt it was safe to eat and instead of having to steal it just just apologized and said they took the food by mistake.
Now headed back, first the train then the shuttle to the hotel, we were tired , we managed the transportation really well with out having to pay much extra taking advantage of the shuttle provided by the hotel or the free shuttles to/from Logan.
Early flight out of Boston thankfully direct to HOU, 7am flight - Calm, Gabby picked us up, we had one day to rest before going back to work.
Looking Back now - I loved the area, I would like to return one day but not in November, it was too cold, most places were closed for the season, we missed most of the Fall color , unfortunately the week of Thanksgiving is the only week we have off from work in the Fall, maybe once we retire we can do this pilgrimage in mid to late October when temperatures are still cool and we can see the colors we see and hear about from others. A trip like this has to be taken calmly and on the back roads of these beautiful States. Next time hopefully two to three weeks and go see Vermont and Upstate New York.
